With support from the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation, the Humanities Research Center’s Spatial Humanities Initiative invites faculty to submit proposals for summer travel funding, of up $7500, related to the development of spatial humanities projects.
Awarded funds may be used for, but not limited to, documenting a historic site through sketching, photographs, GPS, or LiDAR technology; exploring local archives holding historic maps and photographs of the site; consulting with regional historians and scholars of the area; meeting with database administrators; and consulting with other Spatial Humanities Centers. Faculty may include travel costs for accompanying graduate student assistants in their proposed budgets.
