Dissertation Research Improvement (DRIG) grants are awarded annually to support or partially support dissertation research projects proposed by graduate students in the School of Social Sciences who have completed their coursework and who have advanced to candidacy or will advance to candidacy by the time the awards are made.
Social Sciences â€“ Graduate Student Conference Travel Grants
Graduate Student Conference Travel Grants (GSCT) of up to $400 are available to graduate students in the Social Sciences at Rice who are presenting a paper or a poster as a first author at a conference or meeting.Â
Social Sciences â€“ Pre-Dissertation Research Grants (PDR)
The Pre-Dissertation ResearchÂ Grants (PDR) provides support or partial support expenses related to preliminary dissertation research for graduate students in the School of Social Sciences (excluding Anthropology) at Rice.Â
Seed Money grants for up to $10,000 are available to tenure-track faculty (position at the rank of assistantÂ professor) for the development of larger projects leading to research grant proposals to outside funding agencies.
